Attendees will be trained on the requirements outlined in the EPA Model Accreditation Plan addressing asbestos regulations, medical surveillance, health effects, worker protection, sampling, work practices, removal techniques, and other safety and health considerations.
Upon completion of this course, WA State Labor & Industries will issue each student a Certified Asbestos Worker card which allows the student to perform Class I, II, III, & IV asbestos work at the worker level.
Currently the cost is $625, which includes the required $45 L&I application fee for certification. As of 1/1/25 the cost will increase to $675 and will still include the application fee.

Completed Certified Asbestos Worker Initial training (Bring card and photo ID to class)
This training includes asbestos regulations, medical surveillance, health effects, worker protection, sampling, work practices, removal techniques, and other safety and health considerations.
Upon completion of this course, L&I will distribute a certificate that extends the accreditation for an additional year.
If the refresher class is taken after your expiration date, refer to this L&I website for instructions.
The current cost is $300 and includes the required $45 L&I application fee for re-certification. As of 1/1/2025 the cost will be $350 and include the application fee.
40-hr (It may be offered as either a 4 day or a 5 day course)

Prior to attending the Certified Asbestos Supervisor Initial course, you must submit an Affidavit of Experience to WA L&I. A copy of this form can be found by clicking here. Extensive work experience is required. For the number of hours required and a full list of qualifying experiences, click here to read WAC 296-65-012.

You must have completed the initial 40-hr Certified Asbestos Supervisor Initial course. Please bring to class your current Asbestos Supervisor card issued by WA L&I and a government issued ID.
This course includes training on asbestos regulations, medical surveillance, health effects, worker protection, sampling, work practices, removal techniques, and other safety and health considerations.
Upon completion of this course, L&I will distribute a certificate that extends the accreditation for an additional year.
The course cost is $330 and includes the required $65 L&I application fee for certification. As of 1/1/25 the cost will increase to $380 and include the fee.
