For states that don't have their own RRP program you must be compliant with the Federal EPA RRP program. The WA State RRP Program is fully compliant with the EPA Program.
The purpose of the Renovation, Repair and Painting Program (RRP) is to minimize exposure from lead-based paint dust during renovation, repair, or painting activities. Common renovation activities like sanding, cutting, and interior demolition can create hazardous lead dust and chips by disturbing lead-based paint, which can be harmful to adults and children. Firms performing renovation, repair, and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in pre-1978 homes or childcare facilities in WA State must be certified by the WA State Department of Commerce and use certified renovators who are trained by an approved training provider to follow lead-safe work practices. This training is compliant with WA Dept of Commerce requirements.
The course will cover applicable regulations and recordkeeping requirements, appropriate work practices and safety procedures.
Upon successful completion of this course, WA state Dept of Commerce will issue Lead RRP certification. This certification is active for 5 years.
The course cost includes a $25 fee paid to the WA Dept of Commerce.
This course includes a hands-on portion of education. If you have a situation that precludes your full participation, please contact our office at (509) 252-8880 or email@example.com for more information and accommodation options.
