Hazardous Chemical Communication Program

Most work places use chemicals. Other than common household cleaners, chemicals that are purchased for use in the workplace are accompanied by a MSDS. The MSDS discloses information about the chemical including;

  • Product identification
  • Hazardous components
  • Physical properties
  • Fire and explosion data
  • Reactivity data
  • Health hazard and toxicity data
  • Personal protection information
  • Spill and disposal procedures
  • Regulatory information
  • Special precautions

MSDSs are often hard to understand if you are not familiar with how to interpret the information. Kyron can provide the necessary expertise to help you interpret this documentation and help you identify appropriate work practices, engineering controls, or personal protective equipment required when using specific chemicals.

Kyron can develop a written Hazardous Chemical Communication Program (HCCP) that complies with all applicable state health and safety rules to prevent exposures that can result in injury or illness. The HCCP identifies employee responsibility, necessary training, and procedures for proper labeling of hazardous chemical containers; documentation and review of MSDSs; and identification of non-routine hazardous tasks i.e. confined space entry and tank cleaning.
